Stay Informed

Dear campus community,

We are investigating a small cluster of positive COVID-19 cases on campus. Student Health Services is currently working with the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) on contact tracing and mitigation measures and will have further updates later today as information becomes available.
In the meantime, we recommend the following precautions:
•Out of an abundance of caution, all students, faculty, staff and visitors are strongly encouraged to wear masks inside all campus buildings.
•Social distancing of at least three, preferably six, feet should be observed whenever possible.
•We strongly encourage event organizers and hosts of meetings occurring in the next several days to recommend masks for attendees and provide ample space for social distancing. At this time, we do not anticipate the need to return to virtual classes or events but are monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as needed.
Anyone who thinks they may have been exposed and is not exhibiting symptoms is encouraged to test on campus. Asymptomatic testing is available Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the Yellow Cottage. If you are symptomatic, please do not come to the campus testing site; instead, contact your primary care provider or RIDOH immediately.
Thank you for doing your part to keep our campus community safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
Rhode Island College
COVID-19 Response Team
