Theatre Org Meeting!

Hello everyone! Our first Theatre Org Meeting will be held tomorrow! 🎉 Wednesday September 25th at 12pm, during the free period! Hope to see you all there!

Volunteers needed


Seven Cedars Farm is looking for volunteers to help on their annual Haunted Hayride event. Roles include, but are not limited to: acting, makeup design, customer assistance, and much more.

Audition Reminders!

- All general, performance, and musical theatre majors should plan to audition for the Growing Stage this coming Sunday at 2pm. The sign-up sheet is up in the MTD office.

- Good Friday, will conflict with Working, a Musical. If you end up cast in Working, please email me to put yourself on the "do not cast" list for Good Friday.

- I & You only conflicts with February's Awake & Sing. If you're cast in I & You, you will need to be on the "do not cast" list for that show. I & You does not conflict with Little Mermaid or directly with Student Choreography's tech/performance week.

- In general, please email me by Friday at 12pm, if you want to be on the "do not cast" list for either show. I cannot guarantee that I will be able to check my email this weekend to catch any latecomers.

  • All theatre majors should sign up for an audition slot in the MTD Office. If you want to be on the “do not cast list” for either or both shows, please email Nicki at nfrechette@ric.edu  no later than September 20th.



  • Actors should prepare and memorize two contrasting monologues. Total running time should not exceed TWO minutes.

  • The Call-back lists for both shows will be posted on the Theatre callboard by 10am on September 30th. (www.riccallboard.blogspot.com)

Details for GOOD FRIDAY

  • Call-backs will be Sunday, October 13th in the Little Theatre from 2-5pm.
  • Call-backs will consist of readings from the script.
  • Rehearsals begin Monday, October 21st and will generally be Sunday-Thursday nights from 7-10pm.
  • The show will run December 13-15th in the Forman Theatre. Tech begins on Monday, December 9th at 6pm.

Character Breakdown for Good Friday

Cast Size: ​I am looking for a diverse cast of 11 actors; 6 men, 4 women, with 1 role that can be filled by an actor of any gender/identity. Vocal and movement experience is a plus, but not required.

Characters:​ 
JUDICAR: Lake Jordan’s most respected church official, male to play 55-60 yrs old.

JACOB WOODSMITH: Another respected member of Lake Jordan. Runs his own carpenter business. To play 35-40 yrs old.

LEWIE WRIGHTMAN: A young teenager and member of the resistance. Male/female/non-binary. 

MARGARET WOODSMITH: Married to Jacob. Intuitive, and precautious. Female to play 30-35 yrs old.

LIAM WOODSMITH: Nephew of Jacob and child of Joan. Socially inept and prone to fits. To play 18-20 yrs old.

JOAN WOODSMITH: Jacobs sister, Liam’s Mother, and a member of the resistance. To play 40-45 yrs old.

MR. HOWL: A citizen of Lake Jordan. A man without a conscience. To play 35-40 yrs old.

MR. KENT: A citizen of Lake Jordan. A man with a secret. To play 20-25 yrs old.

COUNCIL MEMBER/CUSTOMER/MYSTERIOUS MAN: Male to play multiple citizens of Lake Jordan. 18-25. 

COUNCIL WOMAN/WAITRESS: Female to play several citizens of Lake Jordan. 18-25.

SHADY WOMAN/WOMAN: Female to play several citizens of Lake Jordan. 18-25.
