THTR ORG MEETING SUMMARY

 Hello all --

Here are the names of people who have submitted themselves for consideration for Theatre Org officers:

For President:    Rachel Santagate        Olivia Lancellotta

For Secretary:    Olivia Lancellotta    Maddie LaPlante    Jennifer JeanMarie

We may also need a Treasurer. Matt Thureson is our present Treasurer and has volunteered to continue serving in the Fall, if he is permitted.  If Matt is not eligible to continue as Treasurer, Aida Menacho has volunteered to take his place.

Presently Derek Rivera is Vice President. Technically if anyone would like to be considered as VP, we can put them on the ballot with Derek as the incumbent.

If you would like to be considered for any position (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer), please let me know by the end of the day today. Contact me at casey.seymourkim@gmail.com.

The next step is to create a ballot with the nominees listed. We will post the link to the ballot on Callboard and tally the votes the end of next week (May 6).

We'll announce the new Officers by the end of the term.

Thank you and have a great afternoon!

*** ATTENTION ALL THEATRE MAJORS ***

WHAT:    Brief Theatre Org Meeting

WHEN:    Wednesday, April 27, at 12:30pm.

WHERE:    Little Theatre

PURPOSE:    To determine candidates for 2 Theatre Org officers for next Fall

This can be a quick meeting.

We need to identify candidates for Theatre Org President and Secretary, to replace our seniors who are graduating.

Once we get different nominees, we can put them on a virtual ballot and vote for next year's officers before the end of the school year.

If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like to be considered for either TO President or Secretary, please email Casey Seymour Kim at casey.seymourkim@gmail.com.

Stay Informed

Dear campus community,

We are investigating a small cluster of positive COVID-19 cases on campus. Student Health Services is currently working with the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) on contact tracing and mitigation measures and will have further updates later today as information becomes available.
In the meantime, we recommend the following precautions:
•Out of an abundance of caution, all students, faculty, staff and visitors are strongly encouraged to wear masks inside all campus buildings.
•Social distancing of at least three, preferably six, feet should be observed whenever possible.
•We strongly encourage event organizers and hosts of meetings occurring in the next several days to recommend masks for attendees and provide ample space for social distancing. At this time, we do not anticipate the need to return to virtual classes or events but are monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as needed.
Anyone who thinks they may have been exposed and is not exhibiting symptoms is encouraged to test on campus. Asymptomatic testing is available Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the Yellow Cottage. If you are symptomatic, please do not come to the campus testing site; instead, contact your primary care provider or RIDOH immediately.
Thank you for doing your part to keep our campus community safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
Rhode Island College

THEATER ORG MEETING -- ALL CALL -- WED 4/27/22 at 12:30pm

 !!ATTENTION ALL THEATRE STUDENTS!!

We need as many people attending the next Theatre Org meeting as possible:

Wednesday 4/27/22 at 12:30pm in the Little Theater

New Thtr Org officers will need to be nominated and elected BY THE TIME THE SEMESTER IS OVER.

We should use this meeting to nominate all interested parties for President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

The pandemic has taken its toll on how the Theatre Org has operated, but next year we have the opportunity to reimagine what this unified program organization can do.

--We can bring in guest artists and speakers, to be sure.

--We can also help to re-imagine a couple of courses that will help expand our program and establish connections with the community within, as well as outside, of RIC.

--This past year we began a practice of having organization reps meet with faculty about concerns, working together to figure out solutions. These meetings have been valuable simply by virtue of disseminating information about what practices are, what is controlled at the program and department level, what is part of larger campus policy, etc., etc. We can figure out what role specifically Theatre Org can play in these meetings.

After the meeting, we will post information about the different nominees for the positions, and ask for a virtual vote to be tallied later in the week.

See you there!
