Growing Stage: 2022-2023

We are pleased to announce the following titles for the Growing Stage season!

The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe

Directed by Mackenzie Richard

December 9th-10th at 7:30pm

December 11th at 1:00pm

Left quad. Right quad. Lunge. A girls indoor soccer team warms up. From the safety of their suburban stretch circle, the team navigates big questions and wages tiny battles with all the vim and vigor of a pack of adolescent warriors. A portrait of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for nine American girls who just want to score some goals.

Nothing is the End of the World (except for the end of the world) by Bekah Brunstetter

Directed by Eliza Vecchiarelli

April 28th & 29th at 7:30pm

April 30th at 1:00pm

In the near-distant future, an NYC charter school becomes the first to welcome artificially intelligent students. However, new AI students Olive and Godfrey receive a chilly welcome from the already self-conscious and stressed-out members of the Junior class. When a reality show swoops in to capture this social experiment on camera, the priorities and moralities of the student body are turned inside-out. At turns both droll and touching, this dark new play questions how we reconcile the thin line between our ever-improving technologies and what it means to be human.

Film Studies/Theatre Program Collaboration!

Heads Up Regarding a Film Studies/Theatre Program Collaboration!

Interested in Film Performance?

Film Studies students are embarking on a year-long project to write an original film, cast it, film it, and show it, complete with a red-carpet premiere in Gaige Hall.

This post is a heads-up that the Film Studies folks will be looking to our program to help them cast actors for their original script(s).

They will be providing character break-downs and descriptions in November; interested theatre students can submit audition reels for the director(s) to cast from. There is potential for in-person callbacks.

Filming will take place in January and February. (March & April will be for editing and taking care of post-production elements). Premiere will be in May during Finals Week.

There will be more information to come, so be sure to keep checking Callboard if you are interested!
