THE CHARACTERS

  • TURNER, ERIC & RYAN- Men in their twenties.
  • GERALD- A man in his fifties.
  • ALICE- A woman in her fifties.
  • PAUL- A man of eighteen.

Jake Shore’s play Down the Mountain is in a collection of works published by Indie Theatre Now, New York. He has had five plays produced in New York City. In August of this year, Playbill selected his most recent play as one of 13 shows not to miss off-Broadway. His work has been produced in New York at The Flea Theatre (Sigourney Weaver’s theatre) in conjunction with the publication of his first Novel, A Country for Fibbing. Jake has his own theatre company in New York City, JCS Theatre Company and his own press, JCS Press with 86,00 twitter followers.

Director, Gary Shore is a choreographer, mime, and filmmaker. As a solo artist, he has been seen at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, The International Festival of Theatres in Switzerland, The Riverside Dance Festival and the Open Eye in New York City. His film, First Movement Form, made in collaboration with dancer/choreographer Sean Curran was presented at Lincoln Center. His film, Children of Providence won Best Feature at The Rob Knox Film Festival London. His most recent theatrical works, The Link to the Missing Link and Animating the Closet, were presented at Dance New Amsterdam in New York City.

Guest Speaker!

RIC alum Chris Soley served as Assistant Technical Director at Adelphi University, worked in New York City for two years before becoming a Technical Designer at the Scenic Route in 2012. A special effect he designed was featured on NBC’s The Voice! Chris then went on to work for Disney in China as a Project Manager and Installation Supervisor at the Shanghai Resort. After returning to the states, Chris became the Technical Director at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and served in that position from May of 2016 until recently. He just began a new job with Walt Disney Imagineering. Join us Thursday, May 3rd at 2:00pm up in the Tech Classroom. All are welcome!
