Audition Reminders

Hello all ~

Auditions for next semester are almost upon us! 

If you are a performance or musical theatre concentration, be sure to sign up for audition slots on both Sunday the 3rd and Sunday the 10th.

Tomorrow, December 1st is the last day to be added to the do no cast list. If you need to be on that list for any of the 3 shows, please email Nicki at nfrechette@ric.edu.

The Little Theatre

• All theatre majors should sign up for an audition slot in the MTD Office. If you want to be on the “do not cast list” for either or both shows, please email Nicki at nfrechette@ric.edu  no later than December 1^st.

• Actors should prepare and memorize one contemporary dramatic monologue. Total running time should not exceed TWO minutes.

• The Call-back list for MARVIN will be posted on the Theatre callboard by 10am on December 4th. The call-back list for YOUTH will be posted on Monday, December 11th. (www.riccallboard.blogspot.com)

Details for MARVIN’s ROOM

• Call-backs will be Monday, December 4^th at 7pm in the Little Theatre.
• Call-backs will consist of readings from the script.
• Rehearsals begin January 8^th and will generally be Sunday-Thursday nights from 7-10pm.
• The show will run two weekends!! Thursday-Sunday (February 22-25) and then Friday-Sunday (March 2-4) with a potential brush up rehearsal on Wednesday, Feb. 28th. There is a school matinee scheduled for Friday, Feb. 23^rd at 10am. Tech begins on Sunday, February 18^th at 12pm.

• Call-backs will be Tuesday, December 12^th from 7-10pm in the Little Theatre.
• Rehearsals begin Monday, February 5^th and will generally be Sunday-Thursday nights from 7-10pm.
• The show runs March 16-18^th and starts tech on Monday, March 12^th.

6:00pm – Dance Audition (all called)

7:00pm – Singing Auditions (By #)

• All theatre majors should sign up for an audition number in the MTD Office. Everyone should attend the dance audition at 6pm. Starting at 7pm, we will do singing auditions in order by number, but not by time slot. Do not plan to leave the building between the dance audition and your singing audition.

• If you want to be on the “do not cast list” for the show, please email Nicki at nfrechette@ric.edu  no later than December 1^st.

• Students should prepare 16-bars of a musical theatre selection and bring the actual sheet music (no cheat sheets) to the audition. An accompanist will be provided. Have your start and end point clearly marked in the music! Please no Sondheim or Jason Robert Brown.

• The Call-back list for Beauty & the Beast will be posted on the Theatre callboard by 10am on December 11th. (www.riccallboard.blogspot.com)

Schedule Details:

• Call-backs will be Monday, December 11^th at 7pm in the Melcer Dance Studio.

• Rehearsals begin February 18^th, but conflicts with Marvin’s Room can be negotiated. Actors are not able to be in both This is Our Youth and Beauty & the Beast. The timeframe conflicts too much.

• Rehearsals are generally Sunday-Thursday 7-10pm and Fridays 4-7pm.

• The show begins tech on Saturday, April 7^th and runs Thursday, April 12^th to Sunday, April 15^th.
