VIDEO SUBMISSIONS FOR THTR 091/JURIES ARE DUE BY
FRIDAY OF NEXT WEEK (OCTOBER 17, 2025)**
(**Yes, we have extended the deadline by a week.)
This is information about THTR 091 and the end-of-semester juries. This information has already been disseminated, but here it is all in one post -- including the monologue assignment for all Freshmen:
What are the juries?
At the end of each semester, students concentrating in Performance, Musical Theatre, and General Theatre with a Performance Concentration must complete an assignment (performing and filming monologues or songs) and then have a short meeting with Bill Wilson and Casey Seymour Kim by the end of the semester.
When are they?
Each student has been given an assigned time and day; it is listed in the 091 syllabus handed out at the first general meeting.
If you do not see your name on the list, or are not sure what your assigned time/day is, just let us know and we'll either tell you or figure out a time for you.
Where are they?
The meetings will be in the BABS (Billie Ann Burell Studio) -- the studio space that is next to the elevator in the Nazarian Center, around the corner of the dance studio and vending machines. Theatre performance classes are held there.
What do I need to do/What is my assignment?
Check the THTR 091 syllabus to confirm what is specifically asked of you for this semester.
Special Note to All Musical Theatre, Performance, and General Theatre Freshman: In your first semester, everyone is assigned the same monologue, which is printed down below. (If you are a General Theatre major with a Technical Design Concentration, this does not apply to you).
1. Film yourself performing your specified material.
2. Upload the video to this padlet page, or send it to Casey Seymour Kim (casey.seymourkim@gmail.com) or Bill Wilson (wwilson@ric.edu.)
3. Please submit this by midterm -- October 17, 2025.
[Gentle Reminder: Part of being a theatre major is checking the RIC Callboard every week for announcements and information about auditions, workshops, talks, rehearsal times, etc.]

Access the monologue for Freshmen, as well as a pdf of the short play at this link. It is very short.
