Welcome Back!

• Introductions to faculty/staff

Covid policies

• 3 feet apart and masks must be worn indoors!

• Please follow the guidelines as laid out by Rhode Island College

• We encourage everyone to follow CDC guidelines for safety/mask in your life etc… to help keep Covid at bay and help ensure we can continue with in-person events/classes

Upcoming Program Auditions 

• For hopeful Musical Theatre majors - the program audition will be a part of the upcoming musical show auditions
• For hopeful Performance majors – please submit a video to Casey by 10/1 (Details on a below Callboard post)

2021-2022 Season Announcement

• 1776 - directed by Bill Wilson
• Auditions:
• Singing Aud. 9/19, 1-4pm - You will need to sign up for a 3-minute time slot
• Dance Aud. 9/19 at 4pm
• Callbacks 9/24, 1-4pm (during 091)

• Growing Stage:

• House of Bernarda Alba - directed by Dylan Bowden
• Wednesday, 12/15 – 7-10pm
• Callbacks, Thursday, 12/16– 7-10pm

Box Office Update

• Opening on 9/13
• We are planning for limited seating - only 33% capacity currently but may go up or down due to Covid
• Tickets must be purchased in advance online or by phone
• No tickets at the door
• No comps this year
• No sneaking in the back door!
• Audience must be masked and is responsible for their own social distancing

Callboard 

• The callboard is your one stop place for information on anything happening in the Theatre Area
• The Home Page has announcements, weekly schedules, etc...
• Calendar Tab has all upcoming events and has now been populated through the end of this semester
• Show specific tabs have audition information, cast lists, etc..
• Check your RIC emails! We are not allowed to use your personal ones to communicate about school/department business
• Follow us on social media – Facebook & Instagram - @RICTheatre

091 Expectations 

For performance/Musical Theatre

• Syllabus for Performance and Musical Theatre students was sent out earlier today by Bill
• Auditioning for our mainstage shows is required, but you do not have to be in the show
• Email Nicki to be on any "do not cast" lists for our upcoming mainstage shows
• Normally attendance at other events (like this meeting is also required) but not this year.
• We will be holding open dress rehearsals for all shows and you're encouraged to attend and support each other
• Due to Covid, you must sign up to attend dress rehearsals in advance, details forthcoming

Tech 091

• We hope you get involved with our shows and the TTG
• Only 2 class meetings for Tech/Design Majors
• Portfolio showing examples – 10/15 at 1pm (location TBD)
• Final individual end of semester meetings – 12/3 starting at 1pm (You will sign up for a time slot as we get closer)

78 Classes

• This is referring to THTR 178, 278, 378, 478
• These classes are for theatre practicum work and do not meet weekly as shown in PeopleSoft
• Please fill out Google sign up form (link below on callboard) to tell us what you'd like to do for your 78 credit this semester

Musical Theatre Company

• Class meets on Friday mornings 
• Needs to elect new officers
• Beckie Menzie is first confirmed guest artist - 11/10-11/18
• All called Musical Theatre major meeting on 9/24 at 10am

Theatre Org 

• Introduce officers - Lindsey, Jessica, Dylan/Derek, Matt
• Meets Wednesdays at 12pm (3rd week of the month)
• First meeting – in person – 9/22 at 12pm (Little Theatre)
• Participation is encouraged but not required and attendance will be tracked for Covid/contact tracing

Technical Theatre Group / TTG 

• Introduce officers - Mak, Emily, Alex (Looking for a new more)
• Meet Wednesdays at 1pm (3rd week of the month)
• First meeting – in person – 9/22 at 1pm (Tech Room)
