ASMs Needed!

If you're interested in being involved in Jesus Christ Superstar, we are looking for two Assistant Stage Managers (ASMs) for the production!

We probably will need a few more folks outside of the 78 classes to be on the run crew as well. If you're interested in either, please email Nicki! (nfrechette@ric.edu)

Thanks!

Please Share Posts

 Hello Folks,

I have attached links to two posts:

  1. Theatre School-Day Performances
  2. Alumni Event w/ Spring Concert
Please share these posts on your own social media pages/story's, with any educators you may know for school-day performances, and with any alumni you may know. While the department does their best to promote shows via posters and our posts, we only have a limited reach. With your help, we can cast a larger net and as a result have larger audiences.

We cannot sell out shows with passive-participation!!

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Summer Job - Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp

Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp is currently seeking college students to join our counseling staff for the 2026 season! Theater education and theater arts majors have the opportunity to serve as mentors and role models for our campers. Share this information with college students who are looking for unique experiences in growing skills and connections!

Camp counselors with theater interests have opportunities to assist in Blue Lake’s theater department, supervise theater students during classes, work with professional faculty, and collaborate with peers. Teaching positions with our junior campers are also available to those who qualify.

Working at Blue Lake gives college students a chance to:

  • Connect in an arts community: make lasting friendships, lead young people, and receive professional guidance from camp leaders and faculty.

  • Make an impact: serve as an integral part of the camp experience by inspiring young artists through mentorship and role-modeling.

  • Enjoy the arts in a natural setting: enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Michigan’s Manistee National Forest while instilling a lifelong love of the arts.

  • Gain leadership and youth development experience: combine training and practical experience to build skills in communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, community-building, creativity, and more!

Now celebrating its 60th year in operation, Blue Lake is a non-profit summer school of the arts serving thousands of elementary, junior high, and high school students each season. Counseling staff positions span 9 weeks in residence (June 14 – August 16). Salaries range from $2,370-$2,820 for the season, with housing and meals provided, and a season-end bonus for those who qualify.

Please help spread the word to students at Rhode Island College about Blue Lake and our summer positions. For more information, including a link to our online application, visit
https://bluelake.org/jobs/counseling-staff/ or contact us at employment@bluelake.org or 800-221-3796.

Thanks for your help! We hope to work with your students this summer!

Sincerely,

Joshua Farmer
Director of Student Services
Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp

Teaching/Learning Opportunity

My name is Susan, and I am the owner of Kindermotion and Dance of New England. We provide movement-based enrichment programs—including dance, creative movement, and physical education for young children in schools, child care centers, and community settings across Rhode Island.

I’m reaching out to ask if you might be willing to share an opportunity with students in the Dance and Theater Department who may be interested in gaining hands-on teaching experience while in school or following graduation. We frequently work with students and emerging professionals who are eager to build classroom leadership skills, gain confidence working with young children, and explore how their performance and movement training can translate into educational settings.

Our instructors teach developmentally appropriate classes for children ages 18 months to 8 years using a structured curriculum and receive training, mentorship, and ongoing support. This role is part-time and especially well-suited for students seeking flexible work, practical experience in schools or child care environments, and a chance to apply their creativity in a meaningful way.

If you feel this opportunity may be a good fit for your students, I would be grateful if you would share it with them or direct interested students to reach out. I’d also be happy to provide additional information or connect directly with a faculty member or internship coordinator if helpful.

Thank you for your time and for the work you do supporting the next generation of artists and educators. I truly appreciate your consideration

Kind regards,
Susan
