For Auditions please prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues. Both monologues should be no longer than two minutes each.

Never the Sinner Note

Hey everyone! 

I am super excited to take on this journey as a director for Growing Stage. With auditions right around the corner (October 10th) I wanted to give you all a little taste into what to expect with John Logan’s “Never The Sinner.” 

On May 21st, 1924, eighteen-year-old Nathan Leopold Jr and nineteen-year-old Robert Leob killed fourteen-year-old Bobby Franks. Robert Crowe, the state attorney, pushes for the death penalty while Clarence Darrow, the defense attorney, pleads eloquently against capital punishment. 

Stay tuned in the next week for updates on how to prepare for the audition. Please keep in mind that the original casting of this show calls for 6 men and 1 woman, however for the casting for this show I plan to use an untraditional cast! 

Until then, have a fantastic rest of your week! And break legs (not literally) to those of you going into tech week of “The Moors!”
